Dawson Prestige Dance Studio ("DPDS") is committed to providing high quality dance instruction at an affordable price to the community. Our mission is to instruct, inspire, and educate our children on the importance of health, wellness, and physical fitness through the art of dance while building self-esteem and confidence in our students. We are dedicated to providing a social and entertainment forum for people with diverse interests, backgrounds, and ages by offering various dance classes. We simply want to share the love of dance.

Tonya is the Co-Owner & CEO of DPDS where she serves as Business Director and Instructor.  She brings a wealth of knowledge of the dance and fitness industry and is a valuable contributor to the DPDS growing infrastructure.  Her background, with over 20 years of experience, includes group exercise instruction, professional dancer, and expert choreography.  She is a licensed Zumba Fitness Instructor (ZIN), Zumba Toning, Zumbatonics, Zumba Kids, Zumba Kids Jr., Flirty Girl Fitness, Aqua Fit, Body Works, as well as a cycling instructor. 

Tonya has instructed classes, demos, and Zumba-thons for LA Fitness, the American Diabetes Association, The ALS Association, National Council of Negro Women, Inc., Amerigroup, Vinson & Elkins LLP, Department of Homeland Security, Center City Public Charter School, Lupi Grady, Charles Herbert Flowers High School, Work It! Dance Studio, and a host of other organizations.  She has both participated in and served as choreographer for various dance classes, and also participated in workshops and showcases locally and abroad.  Tonya had the honor of creating, organizing, and instructing the first school dance group to perform at American high school activities in Germany in 1983.

Co-Owners, Instructors, and Creative Directors, Ashley and Briana effectively lead DPDS with innovative dance that people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy.

Together, this dynamic duo instruct Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, Afro Jazz, and Jazz classes.  Dancing since the age of three themselves, each has a profound working knowledge of how to lead interactive and results-driven classes.  Ashley and Briana bring over 12 years of dance and eight years of choreography experience to DPDS.  One of their greatest achievements in the dance and production industry is when they organized, recruited, directed, and choregraphed a two-hour talent show at their local elementary school at 11 years of age. 

The two have performed and/or choreographed talent showcases, fashion shows, high school stage productions, as well as served as creative directors and choreographers for dance recitals for DPDS. Adding to their list of achievements is their featured performance at the world-renowned John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, their featured performance of "The Battle Within" at the "Art Is Where The Heart Is" Youth Talent Showcase for The Society, Incorporated Supporting The Arts Prince Georges County Chapter, and their featured performance in the  U.S. Dept. of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management Sustainability 2016 music video.  Additionally, the two have been spotlighted at Six Flags Amusement Park in Upper Marlboro, MD. Amazingly, Ashley and Briana have received awards for "Best Dancer" and "Outstanding Performance" and serve as choreographers at Glenn Dale Community Center.  Come experience the excitement of this accomplished duo of trailblazing directors/instructors by becoming a part of the DPDS family today!
