Class Description

Afro Jazz - A combination of Caribbean, African, South African Marabi, swing and jazz dance. This form of dance is based on traditional African dance/music, while also including jumps and turns.

Beginner's Ballet/Jazz - This class is a combination class where half of the class is dedicated to ballet and the other half is jazz.  Ballet is the foundation for many other dance forms. For example,  jazz, tap, hip-hop, and more. Ballet teaches alignment, placement, balance and elegance. The ballet class consists of warm-up, barre, center floor combos, as well as ballet terminology. 

Jazz  curriculum incorporates ballet techniques to develop a strong foundation. Dance combinations may consist of classical, musical theatre or poms choreography.

Creative Dance - This class is geared towards children of the ages of 2 to 5 years old. Creative Dance is aimed to provide our younger students with a basic foundation of dance skills by including creative movement and dance techniques. Your child will develop fundamental motor skills such as rhythm, coordination, balance and flexibility.  The dance styles include jazz, ballet, and tap. 

Hip Hop/Lyrical/Contemporary - This 2-hour class is dedicated to providing both the hip hop dance skills and a mixture of lyrical and contemporary dances. This class is for intermediate/advance students in hip-hop.  Students will be exposed to the following styles: street, funk, club, dance trends and the latest videos.

Lyrical involves strong ballet and jazz techniques. This style of dance displays the ability to use dance to  express different emotions.  Students are advised to take our ballet/jazz class when taking this course.

Contemporary involves all of the following genres: modern, jazz, lyrical and ballet. This style of dance improves student's abilities in versatility and improvisation.

Hip Hop /Lyrical - See class description above. This class is for beginner/intermediate students and will move at a slower pace.
